Current Need
As McKesson moves to leverage indirect procurement on a corporate wide scale, strategic sourcing and category management are a critical dependency of a successful Corporate Procurement Organization. The Sourcing Manager will lead cross-functional teams through the complete strategic sourcing process and category management lifecycle, focusing on categories within a defined functional area. The Sourcing Manager will have end-to-end ownership of the categories within their functional area. This will include, but not be limited to; organizing teams based on commodity or specific sub-category, providing expertise on vendor and market analysis, detailed financial analysis, sourcing alternatives, contract negotiations, establishing corporate-wide agreements, implementation, developing savings methodologies, defining the P2P process for a category, vendor management, compliance management, and stakeholder engagement.
Position Description
¿ Identify potential sourcing opportunities through spend analysis and stakeholder relationships.
¿ Effectively integrate with key functional area groups and develop good relationships with key stakeholders.
¿ Research & prioritize sourcing opportunities based on potential savings and/or urgency of business need.
¿ Manage multiple projects at the same time.
¿ Develop written strategic sourcing strategies for the specific categories being purchased using specific industry analysis, criticality analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis and procurement expertise.
¿ Coordinate external research and provide assessment of category supply market conditions.
¿ Manage and lead identified sourcing team through all sourcing activities including RFP development and analysis, auctioning, consortium buying, etc.
¿ Manage supplier risk for business-critical managed programs.
¿ Effectively prepare, coordinate, and conduct all supplier negotiations.
¿ Memorialize results of negotiations through development and review of contractual language
¿ Develop methodologies to capture savings as well as value derived from contract negotiations and ongoing improvement activities. Communicate strategic sourcing results to McKesson Executive Leaders.
¿ Implement sourced categories
¿ Develop supplier management relationships for specific category group ensuring the utilization of a supplier certification process, development of supplier programs, and the identification of continuous improvement initiatives.
¿ Identify and validate valuable opportunities to expand our use of small and diverse businesses within our programs.
¿ Take on end to end ownership of the category lifecycle for managed categories, spanning all facets of sourcing, implementation and category management.
¿ Consolidate spend from overseas operations as well as newly acquired companies.
¿ Ensure Corporate Procurement meets its committed savings objectives by conducting variance to plan analyses.
Minimum Requirements
¿ 10+ years of business experience with 5-7 years of procurement or supply chain experience; consulting experience a plus.
