Responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Pulls and fills orders. Lifts heavy/light weight items. May use (but not limited to) power equipment such as a forklift, hand tools, and other devices operated in a warehouse environment. This position is not responsible for operating delivery trucks which require a Commercial Drivers License. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

Current Need

The PakPlus-Rx Packager technician is responsible for packaging all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing. The PakPlus-Rx Packager will prepare and maintain the packager equipment for daily use, perform general equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, review / maintain reports and identify any customer concerns to the Supervisor of the PakPlus-Rx Program.

Position Description

- Completion of unit dose packaging for all medications used for daily dispensing.

- Monitor and maintain formulary inventory levels to ensure availability of medication inventory for daily dispensing.

- Coordinate maintenance of equipment and serve as the primary contact for all operational packaging issues with the McKesson Automation support group/help desk.

- Input relevant packaging information (including quantities, NDC's etc.) in computer database.

- Consult with Customer Representative regarding means of improving general packaging services.

- Monitor and order consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment. (e.g., cello, small bags, large bags and print-foil).

- Comply with reasonable procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer facility.

- Comply with applicable state and federal laws.

- Capable of standing for several hours at a time and lifting 25 ¿ 30 lbs.

Minimum Requirements

- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

- Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows.

- Working knowledge of mechanical packaging equipment.

- Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable and efficient.

Education

- High school graduate or equivalent.

- Certified pharmacy technician preferred.
