Responsible for consulting and working with practice management and finance to drive new business initiates and get approval for practice growth projects.<br/><br/>-Consults with practice management to set long term radiation and imaging strategies through the selection of new or replacement equipment and technologies. Works with practice management and corporate development to identify and develop a pipeline of opportunities for growth within assigned regions. Supports Physician committees and strategic initiatives identified by Cancer Center Services.<br><br/>- Develops project proposals showing growth objectives, financial impact, and practice engagement. And it all starts with you.<br/><br/>Current Need<br/><br/>First year Summer MBA Corporate Strategy Internship opportunities available in McKesson's Houston area offices. This is a ten week program, beginning in mid-June 2012.<br/><br/>Interns will work with a project leader and an executive sponsor to research a key business issue within the company, benchmark best practices, complete competitive analysis and craft a solution oriented strategy to create added economic value for the company or our customers. MBA interns may be involved in:<br/><br/>--	Identification of facts and issues surrounding key healthcare trends and business topic<br><br/>--	Research of best practices, emerging business trends and positions of competitors<br><br/>--	Design of competitive strategy and offerings to achieve value added, cost effective business solutions<br><br/>--	Identification of performance improvement opportunities<br><br/>--	Development and delivery of an executive presentation<br/><br/>Examples of past intern projects include:<br><br/>--	Analysis of major new initiatives in personalized medicine to create strategic business plans for multiple corporate ventures, leading to a $750,000 launch investment for one of the initiatives. Developed in-depth financial and operational models to assess market for company entry into new project and service categories and determine high interest acquisition targets.<br><br/>--	Strategic analysis of pharmaceutical distribution business for retail chains. Evaluation of competitive landscape and comparative assessment including operating models, pricing/reimbursement and growth strategies.<br/><br/>--	In response to the increasing presence of oral specialty products, determined the impact of oral products on McKesson Specialty Care Solutions and on our customers' businesses. As part of the process, identified key customer needs, proposed options for products and services McKesson could provide to meet those customer needs, and quantified the impact of proposed recommendations on the Specialty business and key customer economics<br/><br/>Minimum Requirements<br/><br/>Candidates should:<br/><br/>-- Demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking; demonstrate sound judgment and a willingness to result issues and problems in a timely manner <br><br/>-- Demonstrate personal commitment and drive to set and then meet or exceed high standards and objectives<br><br/>-- Act with integrity in all relationships and issues; understand impact of own behaviors on others<br><br/>-- Possess excellent communications skills and have the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively<br><br/>-- Have completed their first year studies in an MBA program<br><br/>-- Be a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful U.S. permanent resident, a refugee approved for entry into the U.S. or a person who has been granted asylum in the U.S.<br><br/>-- Have a minimum of 3 years work experience (service related company is preferred)<br/><br/>Benefits & Company Statement<br/><br/>We believe you should be rewarded for the important work you do.
