Technical Product Manager

Healing the healthcare system starts with you. It starts with the chain of events you initiate when you work with McKesson Provider Technologies - a chain that extends across the country and results in millions of people getting more from their healthcare.

McKesson Provider Technologies delivers comprehensive solutions with the power to change the way healthcare is provided. Our capabilities extend beyond healthcare IT software to include automation and robotics, business process re-engineering, analytics and other services that connect healthcare providers, physicians, payors and patients across all care settings. Over 50 percent of U.S. hospitals use our solutions on a daily basis. We're also a leader in solutions that manage complex financial information and optimize resources and supply chain management. Ultimately, we're helping the system run smoother so that healthcare works for all of us.

Current Need

On a regular basis, our customers request specific functionality be added to our main-line GA products and are willing to fund the development effort to add the feature or capability if the normal product road map represents a lengthy or undesireable waiting period for delivery. Additionally, from time to time, customers will request functionality that is out of scope for our product road map that, through careful consideration, is agreed to by product management assuming that the customer is willing to fund the development effort.

This product management role is two fold. 1) work with sales to research requirements from the customer requesting the enhancement, and 2) work within the product management department to ensure that approved work is in alignment with the mass-appeal nature of our customer base (i.e., has appeal to the majority of our customers), has alignment with our product strategy, observes approved methods for generating an architectural approach, observes accepted methods for requirements authoring and is approved for a roll-up into a specific branch of the main line code.

As a result of the nature of this position, it is critical that applicants either have prior knowledge of Horizon Patient Folder and its family of products or clearly demonstrate an ability to learn the applicable products through past experience in similar situations.

Due to the nature of the target customers (HIM professionals) and the expertise required in this position, credentials such as RHIA (preferred) or RHIT are a plus.
