Director Inventory Planning & Analysis

Position Description
Responsible for overseeing activities related to the procurement of materials and equipment. Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives. Reviews and approves purchases above a specified dollar amount. Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities. Monitors the schedule and performance aspects of major customer contracts. Coordinates purchasing activities with sales department to maintain inventories at planned levels. Directs activities within the network to minimize working capital and freight / handling expense. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years purchasing experience including 2+ years management experience
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of JDA and JDE inventory systems.
Strong analytical skills.
Project management skills.
Previous buyer / purchasing experience.
Education
4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
