CLINICAL SALES SPECIALIST

Current Need

This position within Sales is responsible for providing on-site consultation to customers including nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy staff and senior hospital executives to advance the sales process by representing to the customers the benefits of the MAI product line. This individual will be an expert in MAI products, technology, clinical workflow, competition and strategy. They will assists sales management with strategic planning and is responsible for the customized demonstration of products to potential clients.

Position Description

- Work collaboratively with Account and Sales Executives to identify opportunities for clinical engagement.
- Responsible for arranging presentations and conducing demonstrations or site visits.
- Maintain industry, product and competitive knowledge and inform company of changing market conditions and competitive issues.
- Consult with hospital executives and nursing management on clinical automation technology.
- Work with sales staff and strategic marketing team to identify product/market trends and to develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies.
- Act as subject matter expert for MAI nursing solution technologies (including product demonstrations).
- Serve as a liaison between customers and internal R & D departments to provide input on new product development or existing enhancements.
- Create and present formal professional presentations that clearly demonstrate MAI technology and the hospital's key findings and results.
- Able to influence the actions and opinions of others
- Manage time and resources effectively to meet territory sales objectives.
- Utilize and adapt methodologies and tools to typical and complex client situations to gain consensus
- Requires use of independent judgment, discretion and decision making abilities.
- Must possess negotiation, presentation, selling, customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and persuade clients
- Maintain responsibilities for optimizing medication automation recommendations at the client site during the sales cycle.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility for all Company-related business expenses. ~80% travel on a national basis.

Minimum Requirements

- Minimum 3-5+ years of healthcare experience is desired.
- Strong industry experience of key issues driving healthcare organizations and strong business skills required.
- Comfortable interacting at all levels in the healthcare market (up to CEO, COO, CIO, CFO level)
- Good negotiation, conflict management & customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple, diverse projects and sales events simultaneously.
- Knowledge of current information systems technology and of healthcare industry and trends.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

- Strong problem solving and process development skills.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills with strong presentation skills.
- Previous experience with long sales cycles (9 months+) and large capital sales within healthcare industry and McKesson product knowledge preferred.
- PC skills with strong Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Internet capabilities.

Education

- RN degree required. Masters Degree in Business, Healthcare of Nursing preferred. Five plus years clinical nursing experience.
