Primary Care Sales Account Manager Columbia SC

Current Need
McKesson is seeking a highly motivated field sales representative to grow our Columbia, SC territory. Primarily responsible for selling medical supplies, equipment, and technology within the Primary Care segment. Call points will include physician offices and surgery centers and will require hunting / cold calling in order to generate new business as well as maintain existing accounts. Qualified individual must also have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must be a self starter, well versed in solution selling and selling a value proposition. Will become a trusted resource to the physicians you serve. With over 150,000 different SKU's to sell, it is not possible to be a product expert. This person focuses on helping doctors to streamline their ordering process and run their business more efficiently at greater profit margins. Strong prospecting and customer service skills are a must. Reps from copier sales, disrributions sales, uniform sales, and other distribution sales transition well. Will be out in the field daily prospecting and serviing existing accounts within a 2 hour drive of Columbia. No over night travel required.
Position Description
Responsible for promoting and selling McKesson's overall product line within a specific service area. Responsible for prospecting new business in the physician office market and maintaining existing accounts.
- Responsible for the sales of certain products and services in the Primary Care sales segment.
- Develop strategies with clients aimed at accelerating overall business processes.
- Develop and execute call plans and key account strategies to specifically add new accounts to the territory.
- Implement McKesson sales strategies, educate and convert the customer base.
- Perform field promotion work, demonstrate products/services, provide assistance in the best application of products/services and manage questions regarding products/services.
- Meet company forecasts and objectives for the territory.
- Master technical and industry knowledge in order to position McKesson's value to the customer.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum two (2) years direct sales experience. Ability to demonstrate successful sales growth as a result of direct efforts and completion of structured sales training program preferred.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with CRM tools like ACT, Salesforce, etc.
Sales experience in distribution is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, science or liberal arts or equivalent work experience.
