Current Need

Cypress Medical Products has an exciting opportunity for a Director of National Accounts. The selected candidate will be local to the Northeast (Boston, Philadelphia or New York area), MidAtlantic (Washington DC area) or the Great Lakes area (Chicago) with close access to a major airport and ability to travel throughout the United States. In this position, the Director of Sales will meet and exceed plan for growth on sales, gross profit dollars and gross profit percent in his/her region of responsibility. The position entails 60-75% commercial airline travel with some automobile travel. The individual will drive account penetration for existing accounts and secure new customers. This position may require interaction with a clinical expert from time to time.

Position Description

The responsibilities for the Director of National Accounts - Cypress Medical Products, Northeast Region include the following:
* Achieving combined Sales, Gross Profit and Gross Profit percent plan on all base business accounts and new accounts.
* Identifying and closing sales opportunities in new markets with new customers and coordinating activities with VPs, Sales Managers and Account Managers.
* Identifying and closing sales opportunities with existing customers and coordinating activities with VPs, Sales Managers and Account Managers. * Providing sales support for customers including McKesson, national and regional distributors, GPOs and end users.
* Maintaining industry knowledge and product knowledge while informing the company of changing market conditions and competitive issues.
* Managing multiple, diverse projects and sales events simultaneously.
* Providing clinical support for products and their use occasionally to customers.
* Maintaining good communication channels with Vice President Sales, Director of Sales west, product development and sourcing.

Minimum Requirements

Business Experience: 5 years of outside B2B sales or management experience with demonstrated ability to grow sales by hunting for new business and growing existing sales with national accounts to distributors, IDNs, manufacturers or other C-suite level sales.

Specialized Knowledge / Skills:
* Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Must have strong knowledge of the healthcare industry and trends, preferably with a clinical background.
* Must have strong presentation capabilities.
* Must be able to work with little supervision.
* Must be proficient on Microsoft Office applications
* Must have a good understanding of both the Corporate Sales and Group Purchasing Organization environments.
* Must have strong executive level negotiation skills.
* Must have strong organizational skills.

Word, Outlook - intermediate proficiency

Education

4-year college degree required. Clinical (nursing) background or other related medical training preferred.

Physical Requirements

General Office Demands. Must be able to travel via commercial airline 60-75% of the time. Must be able to operate a laptop computer. Must be able to work in various environments - office settings, manufacturing and clinical.
